Working on attacking with some crossovers towards the middle of the ice before a quick lateral crossover the other way to drive wide. Naturally, some skaters timed the change in crossover direction better than others. Beyond this timing, I wanted these young guns to be particularly cognizant of their puck placement and body positioning as they changed direction to the outside, i.e. made sure their puck was placed wide from the defender to avoid any poke check efforts.
