Create Space Through Traffic
Create Space Through Traffic
This is a simple but highly effective puck-protection sequence built around one key offensive habit: moving pucks across your body to create new lanes.
The player retrieves on the forehand, immediately pulls laterally to the backhand around pressure, then repeats the same concept through a second obstacle before finishing in tight.
The emphasis is on keeping the puck protected while forcing defenders, sticks, and goaltenders to continually adjust their angle.
Train this well and players begin to stop attacking traffic in straight lines — they start manipulating around it.
Great for developing:
• lateral puck movement with puck protection
• hand speed in small areas
• deception under pressure
• backhand confidence around the net
