Hockey Players Club — Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy Last Updated and Effective Date: August 25, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Hockey Players Club ("HPC," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the HPC community, including our website and mobile applications (the "Service"). It is part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service. The Service runs on technology provided by Honeycommb LLC, which processes data on our behalf to operate the community.
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
When you register and build your profile, we collect the information you enter. This includes profile information you choose to provide — such as your name, birth year, role (for example, player, parent, coach, or scout), and hockey-related details like team, position, level of play, stats, and similar information. Some information is required at registration (including birth year and role); the rest is optional, and the specific fields available may change over time as we improve the Service.
We collect birth year at registration to confirm eligibility and to support age-appropriate discovery — for example, letting coaches and scouts find players by age group.
2.2 Information collected automatically
As you use the Service, we and our technology provider may automatically collect usage and device information — such as IP address, device identifiers, app interactions, and cookies or similar technologies — to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
2.3 Social sign-on
If you register or log in using a third-party account (for example, a social login), we may receive basic profile information from that service as permitted by your settings there.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to operate and improve the Service, including to:
- create and manage accounts and profiles;
- display profiles, content, and hockey information to the community;
- enable discovery of players by coaches, scouts, and other members;
- communicate with you about your account, activity, and updates;
- maintain safety, security, and integrity, and enforce our Terms.
Any advertising we run — such as community or newsletter sponsorships — is directed to the community as a whole. We do not use individual profiling or age-based targeting to serve advertising, and we do not behaviorally target minors.
4. Public Profiles & Search Indexing
HPC profiles are public by design and may be indexed by search engines. This is intentional — it is how coaches, scouts, and the hockey community find players. Information you place on your profile can be viewed, shared, and indexed by others, including people outside the Service. Share only what you are comfortable making public. For accounts representing young players, the managing parent or guardian controls what appears and can edit or remove it.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- With our technology provider (Honeycommb) and other service providers who help us run the Service, under obligations to protect it;
- Publicly, to the extent you post it to your profile or the community (see Section 4);
- To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights and safety of members and the public;
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, as permitted by law.
6. Children's Privacy
Account holders must be at least 13. Players under 13 may be represented only through a parent- or guardian-managed account, as described in our Child Safety Policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 outside of such an account. A parent or guardian may review, edit, or request removal of a young player's information; to do so, or if you believe a child under 13 holds an account not managed by a parent, contact us at the address in Section 10. This section should be read together with our Child Safety Policy.
7. International Users
HPC is based in and operated from the United States and is intended for use within the United States. We do not direct or market the Service to users in the European Union or other regions outside the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws. If you are located outside the United States and wish to access, correct, or delete your personal information, you may contact us at the address in Section 10, and we will respond consistent with applicable law.
8. Your Choices
You can review and update your profile information in your account settings, adjust notification preferences, and request deletion of your account. If you have questions about your information or want to make a request, contact us and we will respond as required by applicable law.
9. Data Retention & Security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law, and delete or de-identify it when no longer needed. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. If there is a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law, including Pennsylvania's breach-notification law. If you delete your account, we and our technology provider will handle deletion of your content and data consistent with our agreements and applicable law.
10. Contact & Changes
