High Trailer Shot + Net-Front Tip Drill
High Trailer Shot + Net-Front Tip Drill
First player in line builds speed through the neutral zone using crossovers and enters the zone wide. As they approach the top of the zone, they slightly cut toward the middle, catch a pass, and get a shot off—emphasizing underhandling the puck to stay deceptive and efficient.
After the shot, that player stops at the net and establishes strong net-front positioning.
The second player receives a puck from the coach at the blue line, takes a quick lateral pull toward the boards to find a shooting lane, and delivers a solid shot on net designed for a tip.
The first shooter is now the net-front player, focusing on screening the goalie and touching the puck—not swatting at it. A puck can go too high, not too low. Even a small touch can disrupt the goaltender or create a rebound opportunity.
The second shooter then becomes the next player in line, keeping the drill flowing.
