Speed & Shooting Through Screen

Working on our speed through the neutral zone, finishing with a shot through 2 nets as if it’s a shooting lane through a defender. The nets make this much more difficult to sift a shot through the lane. Very beneficial drill. #drill #hockeyiq #quickhands #deception #shooting

One of the biggest mistakes players make is assuming traffic means the shot isn’t there. At higher levels, defenders rarely give you a clean lane. The players who consistently generate offense learn to recognize small windows through screens and get pucks through before those windows disappear. This drill trains both the recognition and the execution. The shot doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to get through.

Great shooting drill and particularly love the first version where the player is forced to make a quick move immediately after receiving the pass.
